Isaiah and Cindy's Story:
We had an awesome day today!! We made 2 big pots of soup (vegetable and potato, wanting to give a variety) and bunch of PBJ sandwiches. The kids made the sandwiches and personalized encouragement cards to hand out to folks/families. We headed towards USF, Fletcher and 41 area. We made a makeshift soup kitchen out of our hatchback and fed people our home-made-with-tons-of-love soups and sandwiches. We heard some really heart wrenching stories. My children were amazing - they were knocking each other down to hand out the next bowl of soup/sandwich/encouragement card to folks. My daughter Emma received a kiss on the hand from our new friends and she welcomed it! Mark is a new friend we made and we gave him one of our Bibles which he has been praying for and Isaiah gave his buddy his sweat shirt. They cried, we cried, we all prayed. It got to be late and we were able to give our remaining sandwiches and most of our soup to a woman and her child. We are going to go back as soon as we can to spend time with our new friends. Pray for them in the chill of the night. Mark and his friends/family living on a couch on a side street behind a dirty gas station.
