Pastor Craig Altman had been serving as a Youth Pastor for twelve years at Calvary Temple in Temple Terrace, FL when God began to stir his heart and prepare it for change. God sent him and 100 other peop
le from Calvary Temple, with the blessings of Pastor Dale Brooks, to begin a church in the Carrollwood area of North Tampa.
On January 30, 1994 Grace Family Church held its first Sunday service in a sub-leased
Jazzercise facility. As we experienced growth, we were led to lease space in a Seventh Day Adventist Church until we were able to finally build and move into what is now our Gym facility on the Van Dyke Campus on March 12, 2000. At that time, we were averaging over 600 people at our Sunday services.
In August of 2001, we completed a state of the art Youth Center that is now reaching hundreds of teenagers every Friday and Wednesday evening. The Youth Center expanded an additional 6,000 square feet in 2009 which hosts The Zone for 1s
t-5th graders during the weekend sevices, 6th-8th graders on Friday nights and 9th-12th graders on Wednesday nights.
On Christmas Eve, December 24, 2005, we held our first services in the Main Sanctuary of the Van Dyke Campus. Grace Family Church continues to grow from the 25 families back in 1994 to today where over 5,000 people call Grace Family their home.
On Sunday, January 17, 2010 Grace Family Church opened the their first regional campus - GFC East Lake located in the Tarpon Springs area led by Pastor Mark Q ("Q" for short because Quattrochi can "tongue-tie" you). Several years ago the vision began to expand for Grace Family to reach other parts of Central Florida. The vision was to bring the "flavor" and "style" of the ministry that God had given Grace to deliver to an area that could not be reached just by the Van Dyke campus. In late 2008, Pastor Q and Pastor Craig started the hunt for an area of town that would best be suited. After months of searching, situated in a growing area and positioned perfectly to reach cities and towns furthering the ministry of Grace Family, GFC East Lake was launched. Pastor Q has served an Executive Pastor on the Van Dyke Campus since 2004 and shared the speaking with Pastor Craig for several years. You will find similar values on the East Lake Campus as on the Van Dyke Campus, a high commitment to children and students learning God's love and a high value placed on applying God's word to everyday life. East Lake features all of the same weekend children's and student ministry as the Van Dyke campus along with a live worship team and a live message from Pastor Q each week.
